Los Alamitos Race On The Base 2020Whether you are already a swimmer, cyclist, runner, or just thinking about it, Our Give It A Tri training program will help prepare you for our local races. For Winter 2020 we will be targeting the Race on the Base in Los Alamitos on Saturday February 22nd, 2020. The Race on the Base Triathlon is a reverse style sprint-distance triathlon with a 5k (3.1 mile) run, 21k (13.1 mile) bike, and a 200 meter (220 yard) swim. This race is a great introductory triathlon for first-timers

Tri-Zone Team

Thank you for your interest in Tri-Zone's free triathlon training program. We are excited to offer the Give It A Tri program and look forward to working with you. Family and friends are invited to join you also. Here are a few details you will need to know about the program:

WHEN: January 4th through February 22nd, 2020: Clinics, bike and run workouts Saturday mornings 8am to 10:30am.

WHERE: Clinics, brick (bike/run) workouts at Tri-Zone, 3380 Cerritos Ave in Los Alamitos; weekday evening and Sunday practice pool swims at the JFTB pool in Los Alamitos, open water practice swims at Bayshore swim area in Long Beach.

Jan 4th: Orientation and Paperwork, Brick Workout
Jan 11th: Running Technique and Core Strength Workshop, Brick Workout
Jan 18th: (Sunday) Pool Clinic at JFTB (Breathing Skills, Swimming Technique)
Jan 25th: Basic Bicycle Maintenance Workshop, Brick Workout
Feb 1st: Running Gait Analysis, Brick Workout
Feb 8th: Stretching and Injury Prevention Workshop, Brick Workout
Feb 15th: Gear and Nutrition Talk, Brick Workout
Feb 22nd: Race Day! (Optional -- participant is responsible for signing up)

Weekday Swim Workouts: Tri-Zone has lanes reserved Wednesday and Friday nights from 6:30pm to 7:30pm for the JFTB Master's Swim Program coached workouts. All abilities are invited, and Tri-Zone covers the cost for Give It A Tri participants. The Master's Swim Program is a great way to get to the next level with your swimming; visit MWR Aquatic Training Center for more information.
